i did not get bought off by a flea and tick removal company. the new banners below my posts are google's adsense-- which i'm trying. it's pulling words from my posts and trying to guess what you guys may be interested in buying. given that, it's not too far off.
the move to monetize this blog was mostly out of curiosity. i want to see if i can even make any money, but i also want to see what ads my words tend to bring up.
so far, i've seen drug addiction help companies, small business loans, and something to do with fall fashion show up here. hopefully they'll get more accurate soon.
once when i had just moved to the city, i was emailing my mom about school and work and google had their little ad-recommendations up on the side of my email. and they were all "tough love?" and "troublesome teens?" and that made me laugh. again, though, not too far off.
it's better than facebook recommending AARP rates and dietary solutions.
although, that one may be on me. i did register as a female born in 1901.
anyway, google has some rules-- which surprised me-- including never asking people to click the advertisements and never clicking them myself. also, i can't have any form of porn on here anymore. not that i really ever did. but now i just can't. i also can't sell illegal things like drugs, copyrighted material, or small children.
that last one is probably going to hurt the most.
i can't wait to see what happens when i post my next intoxicated poop segment.
p.s. so far i've had 275 visits (or ad impressions) and made a total of $0 (or no clicks). so thank you all for being curious.
