When Pizza's on a Bagel

bagel bites are one of those childhood items that you remember randomly and laugh about it amongst friends. they're like skip-its and reading rainbow-- except still around to enjoy.

today, i remembered bagel bites and thought you might enjoy re-seeing the commercial.

my favorite part of this very 90's advertisement is "when pizza's on a bagel, you can eat pizza any time!" as if there exists some sort of pizza-police that will beat you with a night stick if you are caught eating pizza before 5pm or after 11pm. weekends, of course, come with exceptions-- but under no terms might one eat pizza at 8am on a monday. this is not ACCEPTABLE PIZZA TIME.

and what should any parent hope for more than being able to feed their children pizza in the morning, the evening, and at supper-time? this is arguably one of the greatest inventions since tang: the space-age orange juice.

you see, when pizza is on a bagel, you can eat pizza any time. it's a strange loophole we discovered sometime around 1996. bagels-- which are commonly breakfast material-- combined with pizza, change all rules. suddenly, pizza can be eaten at any hour of the day.

truly revolutionary.

bagels are like the poodles of food. when pugs mix with poodles, they can breathe like a regular dog again! it's the great cancellor of rules and sad facts. when bagels join pizza, pizza knows no bounds.

we should really expand this idea.

bagel checks: when rent comes with a bagel, you don't have to ever pay rent again!

bagel condoms: when you don't want to wear one, bagels make her say okay!

oh dear.

i'm going to eat some pizza now. right now. 8am on tuesday. i'm a bagel-less rule-breaker and i'm hungry. deal with it, pizza-police.
