before i begin, i should give credit to art prints inc who, according to amazon, printed this "painting" and named it Daily Bread Man Praying At Dinner Table Grace Religious Picture Art Print. i found mine at the downtown sunnyvale goodwill (one of the only cool things in downtown sunnyvale) and it came with no information short of the price-tag ($4)-- so i'll take amazon's word.
initially, i bought this painting because the negative space seemed to be calling for some kind of ironic or clever thought-bubble. and because goodwill has a way with me and i can't seem to leave the damn place without buying something mostly useless.
i think i had the painting for months before realizing i had not gotten any closer to a hilarious thought-bubble and probably had no intention of ever adding one.
but i've had some spare time, a trip to utrecht art supplies (they thank you for the sudden boom in business, blick), and a whole lot of coffee.
this was PART II: CONTINUE TO DISCIPLINE MY CREATIVE MIND. supplies: spray paint, black sharpie, oil paint pens, and previous hallucinogenic experiences.
this semi-psychotropic dinner scene doesn't really have a name but is my first attempt at painting over a painting. and, as techboy has been so kind to point out, it aligns oddly with a recent post by karisma.
yes, i'm aware that those two plugs came across a bit contrived, but click them anyway.
and now i'm hungry.
