everything is just fine.
the remains of valetine's day are scattered behind abandoned buildings.

and not a single person is worried about christmas.
the parks will refill, free-events will replace fingerless gloves, and the city will crawl with characters again. and daylight savings finishes it off; the later sunlight is the final touch. it makes everything slightly more magical because everything is slightly brighter.
so they pushed daylight savings early this year-- they've done it before. i know it's frustrating to hear time being changed in the same outlandish manner the triceratops and the rest of the outcasts have been. it's mostly confusing.
and there are those who will argue that it's an economical move-- in some ways declaring the value of money greater than that of time. but even though it makes no sense to me, i don't mind.
i like it.

that's a photo i took of a kid doing some cool bmx tricks during sunset, because that's how daylight savings feels to me.
see, when i get off work tomorrow, i'll walk right through magic hour like a god damn cowboy-- and my apartment is west of my job, so i'll really be walking into the sunset. also because this time of year will always remind me of things getting better even if they have always ended up a lot worse. it's like eating an otter pop after being stung by a bee and it feels awesome.
so i don't want to hear that we're "losing an hour" because we're not. we're exchanging an hour for an altogether cooler day.
p.s. - i wrote this all before i realized it was going to rain the entire week. but deal with it.
