The End of Edward

after a bit of waiting, edward did finally respond to the several emails sent. last we'd spoken, jimbo's parents were very upset with edward's behavior, but jimbo was not set on believing their friendship was over so soon.

this is edwards reply:

seriously?

look, there is something wrong with this kid.

i've been wanting to end this for a while-- it's gone on a little too long without a whole lot of anything happening-- but i can't believe that for the life of me there was no way to get edward to simply tell jimbo they are not friends.

and actually that bothers me a lot less than the fact i've provided immense amounts of personal information and none of this even worried edward-- he's accepting the ice cream invitation throughout it all.

i give up.

i will say his response makes it clear that i was, as they say, "pwned." take a look:

i don't consider this an entire loss-- though it wasn't a direct win, either. i'm happy to know my awkward yellow construction paper letter fooled edward, but ashamed i hadn't realized he would ask his parents for advice quickly.

it's a admittedly embarrassing finding he'd been playing along for the greater majority of this experience, but it's all worth it knowing the entire event brought his family together for some laughs.

what makes me happy is remembering all my friends who kept saying i might be going too far or that i might be ruining an innocent kid's day. his response proves, again, we never know how anyone is perceiving adventures and it doesn't necessarily hurt to play a few games to find out-- even if they're a stranger.

this was a poetic enough end for me to not feel like too much of a loser.
